Stardew Valley has been updated for a decade — each major version is a content expansion delivered free. This is the history of every numbered release that mattered.

Between the majors there have been dozens of point releases — 1.6 alone spawned 15+ sub-versions.
What did 1.6 actually add?
1.6 (March 2024) was marketed internally as “the big one” — among other things:
- Meadowlands Farm — a new farm type with a chicken-friendly start
- New festivals — Desert Festival, Trout Derby, SquidFest
- Mastery system — post-skill-10 progression
- Bookseller — a new vendor with a rotating skill-book stock
- Hundreds of new items — including the frog egg trinket, the Monster Compendium, and new cosmetics
It also modernized the engine and raised the PC multiplayer cap from 4 to 8 — the same cap the Switch 2 Edition ships with.
What version is current?
1.6.15.1 is the current shipping version — a console-side patch that followed the 1.6.15 release. PC’s version history and console’s occasionally diverge by a few days; see the platform notes in the multiplayer guide.
Where’s 1.7?
