How do you use item IDs?

Three methods, depending on platform:

Name cheat (all platforms, no mods)

Name your farmer or an animal with ID tags in brackets — [74][163][434] gives you a Prismatic Shard, a Legend, and a Stardrop every time the game prints your name. Details in the name cheat guide.

/debug item (PC only, no mods)

Open chat and type /debug item 74 1 4 — spawns one iridium-quality Prismatic Shard. The /debug commands were added in 1.6.9 as an official cheat layer; full syntax in the cheat commands guide.

SMAPI console commands (PC, requires mods)

With SMAPI installed, open the console (~) and type player_add name "Prismatic Shard" 1 4 or player_add (O)74 1 4. SMAPI’s commands accept names or IDs.

Does the item ID cheat disable achievements?

Using the name cheat or /debug commands does not disable achievements — Stardew has no anti-cheat. SMAPI itself is safe too; achievements still fire with mods installed.
