Ancient Fruit in Stardew Valley: Seeds, Grow Time & Greenhouse Guide

Ancient Fruit is the endgame farming answer: one seed produces fruit every 7 days, forever, in three seasons — Spring through Fall outdoors, and year-round in the greenhouse. It doesn’t beat Starfruit’s raw per-day peak, but it never needs re-seeding, which makes it the lowest-labor income engine in the game.

How do you get Ancient Fruit seeds?

Two sources:

1. Ancient Seed artifact — dig up from artifact spots in the Mountains/Cindersap Forest, or fish it from treasure chests. Donate it to Gunther at the museum and he gives you the seed crafting recipe plus one seed packet.
2. Seed maker — drop any mature crop in and occasionally get Ancient Seeds back (mostly only worth doing once you already have fruit).

The artifact is the intended path; seed-maker RNG is a fallback, not a plan.

How long does Ancient Fruit take to grow?

28 days to first harvest, then every 7 days after that — regrowth crops never need replanting. That means a Spring 1 outdoor planting yields fruit continuously through Fall 28 without spending another seed.

How much is Ancient Fruit worth?

A full greenhouse has 120 soil tiles — after placing iridium sprinklers you farm ~116 of them, which produces ~116 fruit every 7 days. Feed those into kegs and you’re moving ~190,000g per week passively.

Greenhouse or field?

Starfruit or Ancient Fruit?

Different lanes:

• Starfruit (guide) — higher peak per-day profit, but needs replanting and is Summer-outdoor / greenhouse-only
• Ancient Fruit — lower raw number, zero replanting labor, regrows forever

The standard play: greenhouse = Ancient Fruit + kegs; summer field = Starfruit. One scales on time, the other on effort.
